Just yesterday I was browsing through new author posts and I saw on the amazing Kristin Cashore's blog that GRACELING....wait for it.... IS GOING TO BE MADE INTO A MOVIE! YES! And so, I thought to do a post on all the books-to-movies recently announced/going to hit the big screen soon that I am just dying to watch.
If you haven't read any of the above yet, then you're seriously missing out. A lot. Graceling (first to the Seven Kingdoms trilogy), has been my ultimate LOVE of YA Fiction ever since I first read it till now. It's right up there with The Iron Fey trilogy and The Blood of Eden series by Julie Kagawa. But here's the blurb of GRACELING if you haven't read it:
“In a world where people born with an extreme skill—called a Grace—are feared and exploited, Katsa carries the burden of the skill even she despises: the Grace of killing. She lives under the command of her uncle Randa, King of the Middluns, and is expected to execute his dirty work, punishing and torturing anyone who displeases him.
When she first meets Prince Po, who is Graced with combat skills, Katsa has no hint of how her life is about to change.
She never expects to become Po's friend.
She never expects to learn a new truth about her own Grace—or about a terrible secret that lies hidden far away...a secret that could destroy all seven kingdoms with words alone.”

Next, it's THE BLOOD OF EDEN series by Julie Kagawa. Another favorite.
Sooooooooooo excited to see who's gonna be casted as Ally! Here's the blurb for THE IMMORTAL RULES (book 1):
“To survive in a ruined world, she must embrace the darkness .
Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a walled-in city. By day, she and her crew scavenge for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten. Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of them—the vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself dies and becomes one of the monsters.
Forced to flee her city, Allie must pass for human as she joins a ragged group of pilgrims seeking a legend—a place that might have a cure for the disease that killed off most of civilization and created the rabids, the bloodthirsty creatures who threaten human and vampire alike. And soon Allie will have to decide what and who is worth dying for again.
Enter Julie Kagawa's dark and twisted world as an unforgettable journey begins.”
