So, introducing the awesome author of TOUCH:
Jus Accardo!
About Jus
Jus Accardo is the author of YA paranormal romance and urban fantasy fiction. A native New Yorker, she lives in the middle of nowhere with her husband, three dogs, and sometimes guard bear, Oswald. Her first book, Touch, is due out in November 2011 from Entangled Publishing. She is represented by Kevan Lyon of Marsal Lyon Literary Agency.
And her awesome book (see my review of it HERE):
TOUCH
The Blurb
When a strange boy tumbles down a river embankment and lands at her feet, seventeen-year-old adrenaline junkie Deznee Cross snatches the opportunity to piss off her father by bringing the mysterious hottie with ice blue eyes home.
Except there’s something off with Kale. He wears her shoes in the shower, is overly fascinated with things like DVDs and vases, and acts like she’ll turn to dust if he touches her. It’s not until Dez’s father shows up, wielding a gun and knowing more about Kale than he should, that Dez realizes there’s more to this boy—and her father’s “law firm”—than she realized.
Kale has been a prisoner of Denazen Corporation—an organization devoted to collecting “special” kids known as Sixes and using them as weapons—his entire life. And, oh yeah, his touch? It kills. The two team up with a group of rogue Sixes hellbent on taking down Denazen before they’re caught and her father discovers the biggest secret of all. A secret Dez has spent her life keeping safe.
A secret Kale will kill to protect.

Hi Jus, thanks for stopping by!
1) TOUCH was incredible! How long did you take to write TOUCH? Tell us about some of the probs that you faced.
The first draft only took me 3 weeks. As for problems, I really didn't have any. The whole thing just kind of poured out. I should always be that lucky!
2) Was becoming an author a lifelong dream, or did you ever plan on being something different?
I grew up wanting to be a writer or a chef. I grew up around both things--my grandfather was a master chef, and when I wasn't in the kitchen with him, I had my nose buried in a book. It was a really close call. I was accepted to the Culinary Institute of America a few years ago and ended up passing last minute to pursue writing.
3) Were you thinking of X-men when you were writing TOUCH? Lol.XP It just reminds me of it.
Not at all ;D I'm a huge fan of X-Men actually (Kitty Pryde FTW!) but the connection didn't click until someone else pointed it out.
4) What or who were you thinking of as you write TOUCH? Any specific person that you used to create Dez and Kale? (Or maybe the psycho father?)
Dez was totally Avril Lavigne. The look, the attitude, everything except the voice--you don't wanna hear Dez sing. Trust me!
5) How many books will there be in the series?
At the moment there are 3 books and 3 novellas in this series.
6) Any juicy secrets to share about the upcoming sequels?
Um, yes! Am I going to tell you? Um, probably not! :D Muhahaha. I will say this, though. Dez and Kale don't have an easy road ahead of them...
7) What is your favourite quote/scene in TOUCH?
My favorite scenes were the one with the bear, and the first time Kale is in Dez's room. As for quotes, I kinda love the "Kill Bill DVD" comment :)
8) Where can our readers buy your books?

ReplyDelete"Obviously this is the place to come if you want to be murdered by lunatics"..
I haven't read Touch yet. But one of my favorite quotes from a book is: “Some things don't last forever, but some things do. Like a good song, or a good book, or a good memory you can take out and unfold in your darkest times, pressing down on the corners and peering in close, hoping you still recognize the person you see there.”
ReplyDeletefrom This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
Cool giveaway! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. My favorite quote is from Hunger Games. "May the odds be ever in your favor" Effie Trinket

ReplyDeleteSomeday you may kiss a man you can't breathe without and find that breath is of little consequence.
Haven't read Touch yet, but my favorite quote is from Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma - “You can close your eyes to the things you do not want to see, but you cannot close your heart to the things you do not want to feel.”

ReplyDelete'Lazarevo drips you into my soul, dawn drop by moonlight drop from the river Kama. When you look for me, look for me there, because that's where I'll be all the days of my life.' The Bronze Horseman
Congrats on 50!!
That's a beautiful quote, fra & fede! Think I'll go look it up now. And thanks!:)
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway! And thank you for making it international. =) My fave quote is from Delirium (it's a bit mushy but rang so true).
ReplyDelete“Love: a single word, a wispy thing, a word no bigger or longer than an edge. That's what it is: an edge; a razor. It draws up through the center of your life, cutting everything in two. Before and after. The rest of the world falls away on either side.”
― Lauren Oliver, Delirium
Congrats on your followers!! Hope you gain many more. =)
Haha, thank Jus for making it international. She's awesome, really.
ReplyDeleteAnd lol, it is a little mushy, but when it's being said to you, I don't think mushy would be the word that you'll be thinking of.
Thanks, H. Shar!:D:D
