Patience is a Virtue (5)

Hmm, it's awhile since I've written a PiaV post, and I've found that there is this other meme going on at other blogs that writes about the same thing. It's called The Time Will Come. But oh well, I'm sticking to my own!! Muahaha. Ok lame, movin' on.

For those of you who haven't seen any of my previous Patience is a Virtue posts yet, this is a kind of a meme of sorts where I post the books that have already been released that I can't wait to start on, but can't cause I'm still reading some other books.

So, without further ado, first up is:

Blurb from Goodreads:
Yara Jones doesn’t believe in sea monsters—until she becomes one.

When a hurricane hits her island home and she wakes up with fins, Yara finds herself tangled up in an underwater world of mysterious merfolk and secretive selkies. Both sides believe Yara can save them by fulfilling a broken promise and opening the sealed gateway to their realm, but they are battling over how it should be done. The selkies want to take her life. The merfolk want something far more precious.

Treygan, the stormy-eyed merman who turned Yara mer, will stop at nothing and sacrifice everything to protect his people—until he falls for Yara. The tides turn as Yara fights to save herself, hundreds of sea creatures, and the merman who has her heart. She could lose her soul in the process—or she might open the gateway to a love that’s deeper than the oceans.

Young Adult fans of Mermaids, Selkies, Sirens and Gorgons will love this tale of the sacrifice one makes for genuine love. Love that could be lost at any moment to the ever-changing tides.

I have just requested for its ARC and hopefully take part in its blog tour...I'm hopeful! So I'll just list it under PiaV. :) This book will be released in November, and I cannn't bloody wait for it cause look at the synopsis, people! It's so cool!

Next up:

The first of The Violet Eden Chapters series.
Blurb from Goodreads:
I slowly opened my eyes. The sun speared its first bright rays of golden orange into the sky and I leapt from the cliff, with the sorrowful knowledge that no matter what the outcome, at least part of me would die that day...

Violet Eden is dreading her seventeenth birthday dinner. After all, it’s hard to get too excited about the day that marks the anniversary of your mother’s death. The one bright spot is that Lincoln will be there. Sexy, mature and aloof, he is Violet’s idea of perfection. But why does he seem so reluctant to be anything more than a friend?

After he gives her the world’s most incredible kiss – and then abandons her on her front doorstep – Violet is determined to get some answers. But nothing could have prepared her for Lincoln’s explanation: he is Grigori – part angel and part human – and Violet is his eternal partner.

Without warning, Violet’s world is turned upside down. She never believed in God, let alone angels. But there’s no denying the strange changes in her body ... and her feelings for Lincoln. Suddenly, she can’t stand to be around him. Luckily, Phoenix, an exiled angel, has come into her life. He’s intense and enigmatic, but at least he never lied to her.

As Violet gets caught up in an ancient battle between dark and light, she must choose her path. The wrong choice could cost not only her life, but her eternity...

It has this very surreal, dream-like quality to it that just attracts me, y'know?

Third up:

Blurb from Goodreads:
In the violent country of Ludania, the language you speak determines what class you are, and there are harsh punishments if you forget your place—looking a member of a higher class in the eye can result in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina (Charlie for short) can understand all languages, a dangerous ability she’s been hiding her whole life. Her only place of release is the drug-filled underground club scene, where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. There, she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy who speaks a language she’s never heard, and her secret is almost exposed. Through a series of violent upheavals, it becomes clear that Charlie herself is the key to forcing out the oppressive power structure of her kingdom….

Oooh, mysterious...!

Fourth up:

The first in the Chronicles of Elantra.

Blurb from Goodreads:
Seven years ago Kaylin fled the crime-riddled streets of Nightshade, knowing that something was after her. Children were being murdered -- and all had the same odd markings that mysteriously appeared on her own skin . . .

Since then, she's learned to read, she's learned to fight and she's become one of the vaunted Hawks who patrol and police the City of Elantra. Alongside the winged Aerians and immortal Barrani, she's made a place for herself, far from the mean streets of her birth.

But children are once again dying, and a dark and familiar pattern is emerging, Kaylin is ordered back into Nightshade with a partner she knows she can't trust, a Dragon lord for a companion and a device to contain her powers -- powers that no other human has. Her task is simple -- find the killer, stop the murders . . . and survive the attentions of those who claim to be her allies!

"...she learns to fight..", "...Dragon lord for a companion.." WOAH WOAH WOAH, slow down! Is this book true? Is it even possible?? I WANT THIS BAD, MAN.

Actually, there are a lot more other books that I have but can't read - you know how painful that it? It's bloody staring me in my face! - but the post is getting long and I have to eat my brunch. There's only 3 more that I want to bring into the spotlight, which is:

1) Candlewax by C. Bailey Sims - This will be out next year April I think, but it's up on Netgalley already!

3) The Halo Chronicles: The Guardian by Carey Corp - It's an angelic novel which sounds like a mix between The Immortal series by Alyson Noel and The Guardian Legacy by Ednah Walters.

That's it, really. So...what books are you craving to read now which is laughing at your face? Lol.
