Blurb from Goodreads:
Her car disabled during a tropical storm, Jessica Randall discovers the isolated house where she's sheltering is a private bondage club. At first shocked, she soon becomes aroused watching the interactions between the Doms and their subs. But she's a professional woman--an accountant--and surely isn't a submissive...is she?

Master Z hasn't been so attracted to a woman in years. But the little sub who has wandered into his club intrigues him. She's intelligent. Reserved. Conservative. After he discovers her interest in BDSM, he can't resist tying her up and unleashing the passion she hides within.

Publisher's Note: This book contains explicit sexual content, graphic language, and situations that some readers may find objectionable: Anal play/intercourse, strong BDSM theme and content (including/not limited to bondage, caning, restraints, spanking, etc), exhibitionism, voyeurism.

My Review

My very first BDSM book! And well, I had the guilty pleasure of really enjoying this. HAH, ok, my mom must never find out about this blog.

Club Shadowlands is a night club that on every Saturday, caters to BDSM club members who do not have an outlet in normal society. You see, people frown upon these things, so Master Z came up with this club that has all the facilities and settings and equipments to suit everybody's needs.

Jessica Randall, or "pet", as Master Z likes to call her, is a simple, innocent, and conservative accountant. And accountants do like their hard, solid facts and having control. So imagine her surprise when she stumbles into Club Shadowlands after her car crashed into a swamp in a storm, requests for shelter and this handsome dude led her to a bathroom, stood there and watched her shower, and after that easily ordered her to stand still while he wiped her dry. I wondered about that - if a stranger stands in the bathroom and doesn't look like he's going to avert his eyes or move away, would you even start showering? Huh, Conservative Jess did.

Zachary is a Dom. As in BDSM Dominant, that Dom, and he sure likes his Sub women. He's experienced, he's coveted and the object of lust for so many other women; He's always in control. But never before have he come across such an innocent, brave and curiously sweet woman like Jessica who hides a fiery passion underneath that poise and proper facade. He intended to lure her into his little BDSM world and have her writhing underneath him for a night or maybe 2, but what he DID NOT intended to do, was fall for this one woman, who is compassionate and oddly aroused at being the submissive one in bed...

I loved the, well, steamy-hot sex parts, which is basically the whole book. Really, this is all about the sex - Jess looks at the dance floor and everyone's just short of an orgasm with their hands fondling things that are not supposed to be fondled in public, then looks to the equipments in the far side of the room and sees a woman in her birthday suit pinned to a Saint Andrew's cross (please don't Google it. Not a very nice sight..Not that I did, it's just...The thought is inconceivable..) with a man ready to whip her, and people whippin' people on another side of the room, people having orals here and there. Well, yep, there's the introduction to the main setting of the book - Club Shadowlands.

Next part of the book is where she meets the darkly seductive Master Z, whom she has to address as Sir, and where he will start to seduce her into realising her inner submissiveness in bed, and dominate her.

That's practically it actually, but I didn't expect there to be any substantial romance development in this book initially, so I wasn't disappointed. But Sinclair did try to add the love that was fostered between them, and it felt tangible enough, just... not believable. I mean, you don't go falling for a man you had sex twice with - not really twice actually, but a lot of times in the span of 2 nights - and know shit about. Lol, crude but the truth.

But it was a good book. Haha, a quick fast read for some guilty pleasure. If you asked me to descibe this book, it would most probaby be "guilty pleasure". Cause the visual descriptions left nothing to the imagination. Everything vivid and everything hot.

There was this loophole that Sinclair didn't tie up - it was how Z had this mind reading talent which is not explained, and how Ben, the receptionist, is a troll. Or was that a figure of speech? I don't think so tho, cause Ben is a sweetheart. He prefers vanilla sex and all, not the crazy intense BDSM stuff inside the club.

I would recommend this book, cause even tho I'm not that into Eroticas, I was hooked for this one, and I can tell that this is one of those that we call, "cream of its crops". It is one of the better Eroticas I've come across, and I do have my fair share of Eroticas. Lol, some seriously good stuff.

Random Musings:

Y'know how Master Z describes Jess's physique as "round, soft, and abundant", and sometimes call her hips "lush"? Um, isn't that like putting "FAT" euphemistically? Jess did grieve about that point frequently, but I thought it was just a psychological illness, like anorexia, but from those descriptions, I can really imagine her like some bulging hippo. But apparently she's pretty too cause the other Club Shadowlands' patrons ogle at her. But if she is fat, I don't see how a hot Dom like Z would fall for her.. NOT that I am being mean or anything, it's just the way of life. Like how sorority chicks don't fall for the nerdy geeks, it's all the same principle. Morbid, I guess, but the truth nonetheless.
