50 Followers Giveaway Extravaganza Day 4 of 4

I've realised I'm at 59 followers already, but still I'd like to shout out a big THANK YOU, you amazing bunch of people! To celebrate reaching 50 59 followers, I wanted to host my very first giveaway, but since I still have to rely on my mom for allowances, I've decided to arrange interviews and guest posts and giveaways with some of my favourite authors! There will be 4 days in total, and I'll alternate between YA and adult authors. So be sure to stay tuned!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today, last but not least, I will be introducing to you the author of the Bound series (and many others):

Amanda Ashley
About Amanda

Amanda Ashley is one of those rare birds - a California native. She’s lived in Southern California her whole life and loves it (except for the earthquakes). She and her husband share a home with a fluffy Pomeranian named Lady, a tortoise named Buddy, and a wild sparrow named Tweety.

Amanda and her alter ego, Madeline Baker, have written over 50 books, many of which have appeared on various bestseller lists, including the New York Times List, the Waldenbooks Bestseller list, and the USA Today list. Not bad for someone who started writing just for the fun of it.

Hi Mandy! Thanks for coming today!

1) Tell me a little about yourself/ Describe yourself in 5 words.

Housewife, author, loves kids and pets. (sorry, that was 6 words)

2) Why did you want to become an author? Isn't being an author difficult, in the sense that it depends very much on publicity and the consumer market?

Actually, I didn’t start out to be an author. I started writing just for fun, as a way to pass the nights when my husband was at work and my kids were in bed. I never intended for anyone else to read anything I wrote. I wrote 3 books before I ever told anyone what I was doing.

3) What inspired you to write the Bound series?

My editor is responsible for Bound by Blood. She liked Bound by Night so much, she asked if I could write a sequel right away so they could publish them back-to-back.

4) There's so many vamp novels sprouting out in the world, so why did you choose to write about vampires?

I’ve loved them for years, but never thought of writing one until my former agent asked if I’d like to write a short paranormal story for an anthology. I said yes, and I wrote “Masquerade”. I loved it and I’ve been writing vampires ever since.

5) How did you come up with your characters? The orphaned, courageous Elena, and the "tall, dark and mysterious" Drake?

I really have no idea. Characters and ideas just sort of come to me…..

6) After Bound by Blood, will you be working on any subsequent sequels?

I don’t have any plans for another Bound book at the moment, but you never know what the future holds. I didn’t intend to write 4 Night books, either :)

7) Out of all the series that you've written, which is your favourite? And why?

Ohmigosh, that’s a hard question. I don’t think I can choose between the Night books (Night’s Kiss, Night’s Touch, Night’s Master, and Night’s Pleasure) and the Bound books. Although I will admit to loving the hero in Bound by Blood.

8) Where can our readers buy your books?

From Kensington.com and Amazon.com

Random questions:

1) Favourite/most hated food?
Favorite: a tie between dark chocolate and bread.
Hate: mushrooms

2) Favourite/most hated movie?
Favorite movie: Star Wars, A New Hope.
Hated movie: anything with Nicolas Cage

3) Favourite novel/series?

The Hunger Games is at the top of my list right now.

That's all for the interview. Thank you so much again for your time!
